The Danish Trio Belcanto was founded in 2006 by soprano Lisa Tjalve, tenor David Danholt and pianist Ulrich Stærk. It was born out of a common interest in the beautiful French and Italian belcanto repertoire, and it offers semi-staged arias and love duets in these genres. The trio´s repertoire also includes famous operetta melodies. Tjalve and Danholt have been described as the perfect opera couple with „golden voices and coquettish playing with the audience“. Trio Belcanto also perform together with one of Denmark´s most famous pianists, Søren Rastogi.
